Rooted in Jesus
Rooted in Jesus is a powerful discipleship course for Christians living in Africa. Not a Western implant, Rooted in Jesus was created out of a partnership between the Diocese of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, and the Diocese of Leicester, UK ; so the course is culturally and spiritually relevant for Christians living in Africa. Alison Morgan oversees the editing and production of Rooted in Jesus (RinJ), and the course is currently running in 59 dioceses or denominations in 15 African countries. Out of the 25 dioceses in the ACSA, 13 are using Rooted in Jesus.
GtC is responsible for the Rooted in Jesus trainings in ACSA. Because Rooted in Jesus is as much a training method as a course, people who want to lead RinJ groups must be trained.

Rooted in Jesus Junior
Fondly known as ‘Junior,’ this version of Rooted in Jesus is for young people aged 8-14 years old; although for a lot of our context, it is more suited for 8-12 year olds. Junior is designed for Sunday school, for Junior Church, or for after-school programs. Junior is a one-year course, and the teaching method and course material operate on the way children learn. The aim of Rooted in Jesus Junior is to nurture and encourage children to be the people God has called them to be, to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ and to play an active role today in the church.
As with the adult course, people who want to lead Rooted in Jesus Junior groups have to be trained. Since Junior deals with the same topics covered in the adult version of Rooted in Jesus, the course is most effective when taught by people who are in or who have completed the adult course.
