Purpose of IT & Media Ministry

To server the Anglican Province, Dioceses and Parishes, by offering advice, support and training in areas of Information Technology (IT) relating to how we communicate with each other in the 21st centery.

Websites & E-mail

Aim: To see every Parish with a positive presence on the web!

GtC has its own internet service facility.  This allows us to host your website and e-mail accounts in a professionally managed server environment.

The advantage is that we can offer cost saving internet services along with the same service levels offered by Internet Service Providers.

 Our assistance with websites

New website: We have adapted the Mojo Portal to use.  This is a very easy system to be able to update your website once we have set it up. We have created an easy to use step by step instruction manual for the basic maintenaince of the website. Click Here to see the manual.

We are developing different colour combinations to use so you can skin your site to what you like.

The big question when it comes to websites is the cost.  We will set up a Parish site for free saving you the initial large outlay.  GtC does ask for a donation per month towards the costs of running this ministry.  Currently that is around R250 per month, it must be noted that this includes your hosting fees.  Should your Parish truly not afford to pay for a website please still contact us so we can work out a way to assist you.

Existing website: We appreciate that some Parishes have invested heavily in their websites.  As a way to support GtC they can transfer the hosting of their website and e-mail to the GtC servers.  GtC will charge you the same costs as you are paying to your hosting provider, with the same package as you are getting from them.

Raise funds with websites

In these difficult economic times Parishes can raise additional funding by partnering with GtC media in offering website hosting to the members of there congregations.

Members who transfer their website hosting to the GtC server will pay GtC for the service. The profit made from this will be split with the Parish.

This is a way for members of the congregation to channel more money to the church without impacting on there expenses.
